I was born and raised in Sweden. I studied fashion design at the Fashion Syndicate’s School in Paris. Besides a few art courses as a teenager, I have no formal training in visual arts. Some of my ancestors were “lapps” (rheideer-hereding nomads) in the polar region of northern Scandinavia, so I love the thought of moving from place to place. After leaving Sweden I spent several years in Paris, Brussels, Wiesbaden and nineteen years in New York City. Still a Swedish citizen, I also received my American
citizenship 2006.

My upbringing in Sweden fostered in me a strong, deep love for Nature. Now being a resident in Boulder, Colorado, I don’t spend a day without taking a hike or walk along the myriad of trails through the beautiful scenery of the Rockies. “Rosco”, a brittany spaniel, was my usual companion. Unfortunately he has now left this earthly realm as has “Slim”, my 25lb water-melon-on-legs cat. The only pets left are thirty five
Koi / Goldfish in a water lily pond in our garden.

I don’t remember a time when I was not drawing, painting or sculpting. It was the natural thing to do in a very artistic family. Perhaps that’s the reason I didn’t seem to have any particular desire to pursue an education in the visual arts, per se.

After my first career as a fashion designer, I then embarked upon my second, Children’s Book Illustration. With fond memories of my picture-books as a child, it seemed only natural to want to create that kind of fun and magic to delight kids of today.

I have many different styles, from the realistic to the more whimsical, the whimsical now being my personal preference. Kids, kids, kids (adults too) and anthropomorphizing animals are my favorite subjects.

I am also blessed with three grandchildren, 8, 4 and 4 years old. They are my greatest inspiration and my most valued critics. I’m discovering that “Grandma-hood” is just on another level!
