My first two passions in life have always been
animals and art. As an only child sometimes my
best friends were the dogs, ducks, rabbits, and
birds that were always around (and of course a
pencil and paper to draw them).
When I was a little girl, I wrote my own tiny
books and illustrated them. Although I was
primarily self taught, I refined my skills at
the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota Florida
and was hired out of school by Hallmark Cards.
After working there for 6 years painting,
sculpting, planning new lines and training new
artists, I moved to Colorado to start a
freelance career.
I currently live in Boulder, Colorado with my
Westies, Sami, Brodie and their puppy Lily. It
is a great place to spend time outdoors and when
not painting I run, coach other runners,
ride my bike, or hike with the dogs.
“ My favorite pictures have always been those
that told a story and even when I'm illustrating
greeting cards, I make up an anecdote about the
characters and what they are doing or saying.
More than anything else, I feel that this type
of art should be fun, and I hope it can bring
others the same joy that I feel while creating
it.
